Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated individual with project management experience to support the Local Maternity and Neonatal System (LMNS) Programme workstreams in Derbyshire.

This post will lead, and support identified LMNS projects providing project management support and guidance to meet programme deliverable deadlines and realise benefits.

This post is to cover the secondment of the current post holder and the successful candidate will join an established programme management team within the Derbyshire LMNS, to lead on making positive, transformative change on a system-wide scale to improve the health of our women, birthing people, and babies.

Main duties of the job

The day-to-day work will vary, requiring flexibility and often managing multiple, competing priorities.

At the core of the work will be providing project management support and guidance for a number of LMNS projects that form the deliverables within the annual Derbyshire LMNS programme plan.

The role requires someone with experience of project management and of delivering transformation projects in the health and care sector.

The successful candidate will take the lead on delivering the Equity and Equality Action Plan.

This is a five year plan with the aim to reduce the avoidable and unjust differences in pregnancy outcomes for the population of Derby and Derbyshire.

The objectives are to ensure equity for mothers, birthing people and babies from Black, Asian and Mixed ethnic groups and those living in the most deprived areas as well as race equality for maternity and neonatal staff.

Excellent communication skills are required to develop a wide range of working relationships across the Local Maternity and Neonatal System; two provider Trusts and Derbyshire Maternity and Neonatal Voices (DMNV).

The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential in order To work in a proactive and supportive manner with key stakeholders.

You will have a proven ability to build and foster relationships with local stakeholder groups and communities.

About us

The Local Maternity and Neonatal System (LMNS) is the collective term for clinicians, managers, service users, Local Authorities, NHS providers and commissioners, who come together to plan, deliver and evaluate maternity services within the Joined Up Care Derbyshire Integrated Care System (ICS) to meet the needs of women, birthing people, babies and families.

The role of the Derbyshire LMNS has been to support transformation to improve the quality and safety of maternity and neonatal care across the full pathway. More recently the role has developed to having oversight and assurance of the safety of maternity services.

The post holder will work within a small friendly, team who are enthusiastic about improving maternity and neonatal services and have an effective, well-established working relationship with Chesterfield Royal Hospital and University Hospitals of Derby and Burton.

There is a flexible working policy with a requirement for hybrid working at Cardinal Square, Derby or Scarsdale, Chesterfield and home.

Travel between sites and associated venues to fulfil the role across Derbyshire, may be required.
