Overview

As an SEN (Special Educational Needs) Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other professionals to support the learning and development of students with special educational needs. You will play a vital role in helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with SEN, both inside and outside the classroom
  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering lessons that are inclusive and accessible to all students
  • Help to monitor and record student progress and achievements, and communicate this information to teachers and parents/carers
  • Support students with personal care needs, such as toileting and feeding, if required

Qualifications

  • Experience working with young people, particularly those with SEN
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents/carers, and colleagues
  • A patient and empathetic approach, with the ability to adapt to the individual needs of students with SEN
  • A relevant qualification, such as a Level 2 or 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, would be desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
