An opportunity has arisen to join the HR team. Working within the HR department, this is a demanding role which requires effective organisational skills to ensure quality standards are maintained. The successful candidate will be able to work autonomously and have the credibility and confidence to deal with a range of staff across the organisation.

Candidates will demonstrate:

  • specialised knowledge relating the delivery of key programmes of work relating to wellness at work, such as health and wellbeing strategies and Better Health at Work programmes
  • an understanding of approaches to population health management and demonstrate evidence of developing and/or supporting the delivery of workforce programmes that positively impact wellbeing and contribute to tackling health inequalities

Personal attributes include excellent communication and interpersonal skills alongside the ability to develop constructive working relationships with key stakeholders and customers.

A ‘can do’ attitude and strong organisation skills are essential in addition to the ability to deliver to tight deadlines in a busy environment. You will also be able to demonstrate an understanding of current issues, national NHS policy and developments relating to the evolving NHS workforce.

Previous experience of preparing, delivering and evaluating evidence-based programmes to improve health. Previous experience within the NHS is not essential.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will;

  • develop links with key stakeholder both internal and external
  • coordinate a consistent approach to the development of Better Health at Work initiatives across Newcastle Hospitals, embedding the award criterion within established Trust processes and delivery alignment with national, regional and local priorities
  • build links with and train Flourish champion, working with them to raise awareness amongst staff of the ways they can improve their health and wellbeing
  • provide in-depth analysis, interpretation of health information and effectiveness of specialist public health initiatives and programmes
