Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time band 3 Peer Support Worker (PSW) to work within an adult mental health inpatient setting alongside our existing PSW’s. The post holder will be based at Campbell Centre working as part of the wider multidisciplinary team (MDT). You will be responsible for working with service users to support personal Recovery goals and be involved in the provision of the activity programme.

You must have your own personal lived experience of mental health difficulties and have used inpatient mental health services (please elaborate in your personal statement) We are looking for someone who is willing to positively share their personal experiences with others to support service users in their journey of Recovery.

Main duties of the job

You will need to be a motivated, energetic, creative and flexible team worker with effective communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with the MDT and other outside professionals and organisations. It is also vital that you have competent IT skills, including using emails (Outlook), Microsoft Office Word and using the Internet

We have a strong commitment to collaborative working and you will be part of a friendly and supportive MDT. You will be fully supported in your personal and professional development through regular 1:1 clinical supervision within the line management structure, along with peer supervision and involvement in trust wide peer worker development training and events. You will also be able to access the learning and development opportunities that CNWL offer and must be willing to travel to complete both mandatory and additional training at other CNWL or linked sites. This will include completion of the Care Certificate and specific PSW training.
