Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Fundraising Development Manager to join the Bright Northumbria Charity Team.

The post holder will be responsible for all areas of fundraising for the charity whilst also working in collaboration with the Head of Bright Northumbria Charity on fundraising development and strategy.

Main duties of the job

Main duties of the job;

  • Responsible for the development of fundraising to support all areas of service operation within the Trust.
  • To role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the trust. This means demonstrating a consistent leadership style which (a) engages, enables and empowers others (b) uses coaching to promote ownership of learning and quality improvement and (c) facilitates team working and collaboration within teams / departments and across organisational boundaries.
  • Responsible for the development and management of fundraising strategies and campaigns in line with the charity’s aims and objectives
  • Responsible for the development of grant applications to achieve income for selected charity projects
  • Responsible for the development of a legacy campaign to increase income to the charity
  • To build relationships with local companies and local communities to encourage the development of a community-based fundraising network to work with the charity in support of healthcare services

Highlighting any areas of concern and outlining proposals for resolution.

  • Specialist Knowledge of all aspects of fundraising including relevant legislation gained through in-depth practical management. This knowledge cannot be gained through theoretical/academic routes so “on the job” practical experience is essential, and is comparable to degree or acquired knowledge at this level.
  • In addition to degree level of knowledge the post holder will have management knowledge and experience.
