Senior Operations Manager

A business that has been established for over 50 years and is a main tier 1 supplier to the automotive industry, is undergoing growth and progressive changes. They’re now recruiting an experienced Operations/Senior Operations Manager to lead every department involved in the manufacturing of their products right through the delivery to their customers. This is a newly created position to support the MD and to ensure that the operation performs highly in order to fulfil its customer’s needs.

The business are offering a salary circa 70k plus a good overall package including car/bonus/pension etc.

Responsibilities of the Senior Operations Manager

• Lead a team of over 100 across the manufacturing operations, including production, logistics, stores, and dispatch.
• Leadership & coaching to deliver high-performance management and culture, succession planning, and safe working.
• Act as a role model and provide strong leadership and support to manage and motivate all operations staff members.
• Deliver performance in line with KPI and budget, ensuring costs are monitored.
• Weekly & monthly forecasting relative to customer volume, resource mix, cost control, financial performance.

To be successful in the Senior Operations Manager role you will:

• Have a track record of leading manufacturing operations within a business that supplies its products to the automotive industry.
• Be very people focused, always looking to get the best out of your teams whilst ensuring they feel supported and valued.
• Have experience using Lean Manufacturing/CI techniques in order to ensure a high-performance environment.
• Dedicated and ambitious able to handle high work demands.
• Highly motivated and proactive, enjoying leading as well as working as a team, whilst also taking full ownership and accountability for delivering results.
