The post-holder participates in the provision of a high quality Diagnostic Ultrasound Service to the Trust, supporting the Ultrasound Managers in the day-to-day organization of the department and accepting responsibility for designated areas of work.

Initial placements will be site based.

However, a cross-sites working will be required as per service needs based at: –

CDC – Community Diagnostic Centres

Main duties of the job

We are looking for suitably qualified staff to perform the duties of a Sonographer at the BHRUT ultrasound department and to maintain smooth good patient flow throughout the department.

We are a very large Radiology Department having three CT scanners and three MRI scanners as well as a dedicated Interventional Theatre Suite. We have a very large ultrasound department across both main hospitals and peripheral sites.

BHR is one of the largest associate teaching hospitals providing acute care for over 700,000 people from across our main sites – Queen’s and King George Hospital & The CDC – Community Diagnostic Centres. The Queen’s Hospital is situated close to the A12, within walking distance of Romford British Rail Station and local amenities. King George Hospital is situated in Barley Lane, Goodmayes with good transport links.

All new staff appointed to posts at the Trust will be subject to a 6 months probationary period. This will give new staff members an opportunity to become familiar with the culture and working environment of the Trust.
