Anexciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and experienced OccupationalTherapist to join the Acute Medical Inpatient Team (including community) atBarnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

The post holder will workas part of the Acute Medical In-patient Team, primarily based on the medical wards providing earlyintervention to patients, as well as carrying out discharge to assess (D2A)visits where appropriate. Specialist areas include Cardiology, Respiratory,Gastroenterology, Care of the Elderly, Surgery, General Medicine, Palliative /EOL care and Gynaecology.

Successful applicantsshould have experience working in the NHS in the relevant field as either aBand 5 or Band 6 Occupational Therapist.Post holders will be expected to participate in a 7-day rota, involvingflexible working patterns and including weekend working.

Main duties of the job

You should have strong teamworking skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and be ableto work collaboratively with patients and colleagues. You will independently and effectively manageyour own complex case load.

You will work with the TeamLeads to develop and evaluate the Acute Medical Team.

You will be expected toattend meetings, provide clinical supervision, complete appraisals and delivertraining to Band 3s, Band 4s and rotational Band 5 OTs. You will also berequired to offer student placements and support students on placement with us.
