Job summary

The Meadows is a haematology/oncology day unit based at Eccleshill community Hospital and is part of the wider Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The service requires 2 dynamic, motivated and experienced nurses to participate as Junior Sisters/Charge Nurses in the leadership of a busy Oncology and Haematology day unit. The post holder will support the Day Unit Ward Manager and Lead Nurse with the clinical and nursing leadership and operational management of the day case unit team. He/she will also be expected to support and influence the further development of high level nursing care.

Main duties of the job

The Meadows unit provides day case chemotherapy, immunotherapy and supportive treatments for patients with a range of Haematological and Oncological conditions. The successful candidate will be required to lead the team in providing nursing care in a multi-disciplinary team structure. The post holder must have previous band 5 experiences within an Oncology or Haematology setting and be competent at delivering chemotherapy.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate commitment to personal and service development and a dedication to providing a high standard of nursing care.
