Key Responsibilities
Analysing andtranslating business needs into long-term solution data models
Evaluating existing datasystems
Working with thedevelopment team to create conceptual data models and data flows
Reviewing modificationsof existing systems for cross-compatibility
Implementing datastrategies and developing physical data models
Updating and optimizinglocal and metadata models
Evaluating implementeddata systems for variances, discrepancies, and efficiency
Troubleshooting andoptimizing data systems
Create models usingforward/reverse engineering techniques depending on need
Identify potential risksto data by poor design decisions and communicate these to stakeholders
Changemanagement/software development, IT Service Management lifecycle
Communicating withtechnical and non-technical audiences
Data analysis todetermine the relationships between data objects
Provide mentoring indata modelling to other IT colleagues
Essential Criteria:
Bachelor’s degreein computer science, information technology, or a similar field.
5 year experience withdata modelling software Erwin data modeler
3 years of hands-onexperience delivering physical, conceptual, and logical data modelling.
Expert knowledge ofmetadata management and related tools.
5 years experience ofKimball Data Modelling or equivalent methodology.
Experience with teammanagement.
Excellent communicationand presentation skills.
Desirable Criteria:
Expertise indimensionally modelled data
Advanced troubleshootingskills.
Knowledge ofmathematical foundations and statistical analysis
Knowledge of metadatamanagement and related tools
Strong interpersonalskills.
Technical Qualifications required: BachelorsDegree in computer science, information technology or a similar field.

Candidateswho pass the interview criteria but are not offered a post will be kept on areserve list for 12 months and may be contacted if similar roles becomeavailable.
Ifyou are interviewed for the post and do not meet the required threshold for thespecified grade, your application may be assessed against a similar, lowergrade role and you may be offered the post should one be available.

Security clearance level requirement
Successful candidates must pass a disclosure and barringsecurity check. Successful candidatesmust meet the security requirements before they can be appointed. The level ofsecurity needed is Basic Personnel Security Standard. People working with government assets mustcomplete Basic Personnel Security Standard checks.
For posts on UKHSA Civil Service terms and conditions, newentrants to the Civil Service are expected to start on the minimum of the payband. For existing Civil Servants and roles advertised across government, therules of transfer apply, level transfers move on current salary or thepay range minimum, transfers on promotion move to new pay range minimum orreceive a 10% increase. Either case is determined by whichever is thehighest.
