We are looking to recruit a nurse practitioner to join our experienced team in our cardiology pre assessment clinic at Freeman Hospital. the clinic supports a wide rang of cardiological conditions including cardiac intervention, electrophysiology and Heart failure devices

The cardiology nurse practitioner will predominantly work in the cardiology pre-admission clinic with adult patients assessing their clinical condition prior to subsequent elective admission for their cardiology procedure. Additionally, will work on the cardiology ward in support of junior doctor.

The clinic operates Monday to Friday between 07.30-16.30

Main duties of the job

The cardiology nurse practitioner main duties include

  1. Arrange the pre-assessment examination and history taking of elective cardiology patients
  2. Liaise with members of the MDT to clarify patient clinical information or raise concerns which may delay the patient’s procedure or pose a clinical risk
  3. Work on the elective cardiology ward in support of junior doctors clerking patients
  4. Provide specialist clinical advice to ward staff, junior medical staff

In addition to the main duties of the role, You will need to have advanced clinical skills and non medical prescribing or be willing to work towards these qualifications . a knowledge of cardiology conditions would also be advantageous

in addition you will train to become a non medical referrer for a range of radiological procedures
