Job summary

Our team of dedicated and highly skilled professionals assess and prescribe mobility equipment (manual and powered wheelchairs as well as postural accessories and wheelchair seating) to eligible service users in our Solihull Wheelchair Service Centre. This position is open to both full and part time applicants. We are now looking for an Occupational Therapist / Physiotherapist / Nurse / Clinical Scientist.

Main duties of the job

What will you be doing?

  • Providing clinical input to the wheelchair services, working closely with service users, their families and carers and the multi-disciplinary teams supporting service users
  • Working under the direction of the Clinical Lead to achieve contractual standards of performance and excellent customer service
  • Provide supervision to junior staff members
  • Developing and maintaining links with other relevant services and organisations
  • Demonstrate clinical competence, effectiveness and best practice in all areas of clinical service delivery; Triage; Clinical Interventions; Documentation; Caseload Management; Medical Device Management

  • BSc or Diploma in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy or Nursing
  • Current HCPC registration
  • Post registration experience working with patients with long-term and deteriorating medical conditions
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal; positive interpersonal skills with an ability to community appropriately with colleagues, other professionals, carers and service users
  • Knowledge of a range of medical conditions (e.g respiratory, neuro, orthopaedic etc.) their complications and intervention for wheelchair prescription or other interventions
  • An understanding of safeguarding, health & safety, compliance and clinical governance requirements
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel is essential
