An excellentopportunity has arisen for a band 3 Ward Administrator to join us on our 35bedded ward caring for babies, children and young people with a variety ofmedical and surgical needs.

The successfulcandidate will be a self-motivated individual who will provide administrativesupport to the ward and Ward Manager, performing administrative tasks, tasksrelating to the recruitment process, and other duties.

You will haveexcellent communication, administrative and IT skills, and experience ofworking with various IT systems and databases; you will also be able to developprocesses to strengthen the service and improve patient experience.

Previousadministrative experience is essential, ideally within a hospital/healthcareenvironment.

Main duties of the job

You will provide a high level ofadministrative support to the Ward Manager, Matron and ward team, and maintaineffective office processes and procedures within the inpatient wards, enablingthe delivery of a high quality service to patients and allowing nursing staffto focus on direct patient care.

You will have ability to plan andprioritise your own workload and that of the ward on a daily basis, workingmainly without supervision and using your own initiative.

You will offer effective support tothe ward team to assist with all aspects of administration duties, includingmaintaining training records, inducting new staff, arranging meetings and anyadditional reports which have been requested.

You will administer all office systemsto a high standard, both electronic and hard copy, across the service, ensuringthey run smoothly through having well planned and organised administrativesystems and processes in place.

You will have the necessary skills tocarry out efficient and accurate recording of data on all electronic systems,including the use of and production of reports and documents for team members.

You will assist with the recruitment,selection and induction process for new staff in conjunction with the Ward Manager.
