This is an exciting opportunity or next step in your career journeywhere you have 2 years experience of working within CAMHS for you to join usas an 8a Psychologist within our core CAMH Service. You will offer mentalhealth assessments and psychological interventions to children and young peoplestruggling with a range of moderate to severe mental health difficulties andinclude working with the families and networks involved in the CYPs life.

Youwill offer clinical and peer supervision to other staff, including trainee andassistant psychologists and contribute to audit, research, teaching anddevelopment work.

We will support you with training and leadership development, offer regularsupervision with an experienced CAMHS Psychologist and opportunity to continuebuilding specialist skills in our evidence-based pathways such as DBT, FamilyTherapy or with Children in Care. Specialist and accredited training such asEMDR can be offered.

We offer hybrid working combining working from home and working in oneof our bases.

Main duties of the job

  • Workingalongside other Psychologists, CAMHS clinicians and Psychiatrists offering psychologicalinterventions to CYPs and their families.
  • Assessment,formulation, consultation, and intervention for CYPs with an emphasis onchild-centred and evidence-based care in a mental health setting. You would work mostly with CYPs who presentwith complex mental health difficulties using a range of psychologicalinterventions that best meets the needs of the YP and fits with the servicesoffered in core CAMHS. This includesdirect work with the YP, family or consultation/liaison with the networksurrounding the child.
  • Accessand support is offered to assist you to develop specialist expertise with anactive CPD plan.
  • Youwill provide clinical leadership working in collaboration with managers, teamleads and senior clinicians (appropriate to the stage of your careerdevelopment) supporting the MDTs through case discussions, formulation and careplanning. Carry a caseload and taking part in duty rota, assessment and careplanning

  • BSc/BA Honours degree at 2:1 or above in psychology
  • Post graduate Doctorate in Clinical/Counselling Psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) as accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS)
  • Post qualification training in specific, evidence based techniques for use with clients with complex psychological presentations and/or physical health difficulties, across the age span
  • Evidence of regular further professional training and experience as required by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the BPS
  • Eligible for registration as a Chartered Psychologist (Clinical or Counselling) by the BPS
  • Eligible for registration as a Practitioner member of the BPS Division of Clinical/Counselling Psychology
  • Registered with HCPC as a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist

  • Related academic qualifications to masters or doctorate level
