Job summary

This is an exciting time for delivering CBTp, with a significant increase in the numbers of staff delivering this, across Devon. These staff are working in Early Intervention teams and also Inpatient and Community Rehab teams. We need a trained and experienced supervisor, who is able to work across a number of teams, to support and enhance the work of the therapists, working in these teams.

This is a role for someone with a clear interest in CBTp and a passion for working as part of an MDT. The post holder will be part of the leadership teams and also take a role as a lead for CBTp as a specific intervention.

You will have a caseload in one of the EI teams, but your supervisory role will be pan-Devon and will be in relation to the qualified staff in each team. There are experienced team members who you will work with and a group of psychological therapists who are keen to support each other.

The post holder may have a primary training in nursing, occupational therapy or psychological therapy and will be supervised by a senior lead who wants to find the best in you and enable you to develop at your own pace and find ways that you can make a mark on the services and the development of offering NICE recommended, evidence-based therapy.

Main duties of the job

We are focused on developing the psychological model, inline with national guidelines, in both Early Intervention and Rehab services; and are aiming to create change that makes accessing the right kind of therapy, easier and quicker.

You will be a part of service development, that understands what people need and that works integratively, within the MDT, to proactively plan when interventions might work best for a person, on the caseload.

You will help to manage referrals and plan with colleagues, to make sure that those that use our services, experience our input as recovery-focused, person-centred and co-created.

You will deliver high quality therapy and provide supervision and support to other members of the team, who are trained and eager to deliver CBTp interventions.

You will support the team to think about the complexity that people who use our services, are encountering and enduring; and get to lead and share in formulating strengths and coping strategies that respect the journey and barriers that relate to the individual.

You will take a lead in developing CBTp, across the Trust, to make sure that our therapists feel supported and valued, and to ensure that we develop our services, with their voices included.
