Climate17 is happy to be collaborating with a multi-led industrial property company, listed on both the Johannesburg and LSE. Covering a diverse portfolio of multi-let properties across the UK with offices in London and Stockport and managing 1500 customers and 100 industrial estates.

With significant investment in their digitisation of services to support the improved customer experience, the in-house platform will allow a varied touch point for all customers, across leasing, property management, finance ,etc to deliver value and growth to all stakeholders.

We are looking to add a Sustainability Manager to their growing and warm team, promoting a culture of openness and accessibility. If you are technical, collaborative and ambitious, I am looking to speak with you. The successful person will report to the Head of debt and sustainability but work with all parts of the business either on the delivery of specific projects or on ensuring sustainability is embedded into business processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the set up and management of our solar PV deployment programme, alongside other renewable products where appropriate.
  • Keep abreast of sustainability developments and support the evolution of our strategy and policies
  • Offer sustainability subject matter expertise to all areas of the business
  • Work alongside key business stakeholders and departments to ensure sustainability is incorporated into key processes and managed in line with set KPIs
  • Review and measure the impact of the sustainability strategy, providing insight on successes and opportunities across the business
  • Work alongside the business reporting team to ensure we appropriately benchmark our sustainability performance and report it to our key external stakeholders in a transparent way

Technical Requirements

  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Deep interest and experience working in sustainability and social impact environment together with a willingness to learn in order to stay on top of key industry trends
  • Self-starter, with the ability to work independently managing projects within a fast-paced team, and to tight deadlines at certain points in the reporting calendar.
  • Strong manager with an inclusive/collaborative approach, able to engage others on a vision and gain buy in to achieve results.
  • Commercial awareness, a keen understanding of the impact of long term environmental risks and opportunities.
  • Keen understanding of how data is used (with an ability to analyse data sets) to identify opportunities for improvement, to support business cases and drive change
