Salary: £28,840 + 25% shift allowance and Veolia benefits

Hours: 40 hours per week

Site operates 24/7 365 days, therefore operators will rotate on a 4 on 6 off 12 hour shift pattern that includes nights.

What will you be doing?

  • Carry out sampling primarily to ensure that the plant operates safely, efficiently and remains compliant.
  • Collection of samples, Conducting laboratory analysis of samples in accordance with works instructions and interpreting of results
  • Setting of plant flows and dosing of chemicals based on Lab analysis
  • Ensure the discharge water quality is maintained to the specification of the discharge permit.
  • Ensure that all chemicals are stored, handled and used, safely, effectively and economically, in line with company requirements.
  • Carry out operational calibration of instrumentation in accordance with work’s schedules and instructions.
  • Trouble-shooting – plant breakdowns and operational issues (with support of site team and technical team)
  • Carry out all duties in accordance with works’, company and statutory Health and Safety regulations.
  • Carry out and assist with COSHH and Risk assessments

What are we looking for?

  • Previous experience in a similar role is essential
  • Have experience of operating either a water treatment plant or have experience of chemical processes.
  • Use of computer systems for works e.g. SCADA
  • Use of computer systems for standard software packages google or microsoft and the use of PDA devices
  • Good understanding and knowledge of Health & Safety.
