TaMHS are Swindons Tier 2 CAMHS service, we work with Children and Young People from 0-18 to deliver short term evidenced based interventions to improve their mental health and emotional well-being.

As a member of this innovative team you will be based within the Family Intervention Support teams, and will work under the supervision of the Senior Clinical Practitioners to deliver a range of individual and group interventions in a variety of settings.

Main duties of the job

You will be a dynamic and forward-thinkingteam player with a vision to drive forward a range of initiatives and beprepared to meet the challenges of a changing and developing service. You will be responsible for managing your owncaseload of children and young people between the ages of 0 – 18 for which youwill co-ordinate care in conjunction with other professionals in the FamilyIntervention Support teams, schools, voluntary sector and CAMHS. You will alsoundertake assessments and short-term therapeutic intervention. At times you maybe required to construct and deliver training to professionals from a varietyof backgrounds.

We welcome applications from qualifiedhealth or social care professionals, an equivalent professionally accreditedqualification with relevant experience is an alternative skill set requirement.Relevant experience of working with children, young people and families in amulti-agency setting is desirable.

You should also possess excellent communication skillsand the ability to develop relationships with professionals, young people andtheir families. The post holder will be required to work within the newly re shaped Targeted Mental Health Function (tier 2 CAMHS). They will work under guidance from the senior clinical practitioner and Integrated early Help Managers and will be required to work directly with children and young people and their families to promote mental and emotional well-being in universal settings and homes. The post holder will be involved in the planning and day to day running of a range of individual and group programme interventions. They will be required to work in various settings including Schools, 16+ educational provision, community facilities and the families own homes.

  • To take a clinical role in implementing targeted interventions to children, young people and families

Key Accountabilities:

  • 1. To identify children and young people in need of mental health interventions through clinical assessments
  • 2. To interpret the specialist assessments and to lead the implementation of the appropriate clinical strategies
  • 3. To provide specialist clinical advice and supervision as appropriate, including into universal settings
  • 4. To carry a clinical caseload of Targeted Mental Health children, young people and families
  • 5. To plan and implement identified interventions to children, young people and parents.
