Main duties of the job

We are seeking a Ward Clerk Apprentice to join our friendly administration team in an exciting and hard-working role. Your main duties will include:

  • Scanning and saving documents
  • Maintaining filing systems in line with organisations policies and procedures.
  • Answering telephone calls and emails
  • Maintaining the staff photograph boards
  • Updating the supervision trees and lead roles for the wards
  • Assisting with ensuring our wards are fully staffed by checking staffing levels daily and putting shifts out to NHSP
  • Assisting with ward audits when needed
  • Keeping staff informed of their training compliance and escalating when necessary
  • To assist with the updating of all noticeboards, staff information folders and staff induction packs
  • To maintain strict confidentiality at all times
  • Assisting with arranging and facilitating interviews for ward staff during absence
  • Working with the wards towards CQC, NHSE and CQUIN requirements when necessary
  • Work alongside the Ward Clerk across six wards in a variety of tasks to provide nursing staff with valuable support
