EstatesOfficer (Electrical Bias)

The EstatesDirectorate is seeking to recruit a skilled and motivated Electrical EstatesOfficer to join the Estates Team. The successful candidate will report theSenior Estates Officer and will perform a key role in managing the successfuldelivery of the Electrical systems including Authorised Person roles for HV& LV Systems and Authorised Person Role for Passenger Lift ensuring a safeand compliant estate.

Salary: upto £49,950 a year per annum*

The post holder will be based at South Tyneside DistrictHospital, although they will be required to work at other properties owned ormaintained by the Trust as and when the need arises.

The postholder will be educated to BTEC HNC/HND level in an Electrical or BuildingServices related subject and have a minimum of 3 years experience in a similarrole.

*The salary range is based on on-call / enhancement ofpotential earnings. Estates Officer band 6 (AFC) is salaried between £33,706 -£40,588 with a contractual requirement to fulfil part of an on-call rota. Thestart salary is dependent on experience and will be placed on this pay scale.>£40,588 is payable from on-call arrangements and additional hours and isbased on current employees’ earnings within this role.

You will be expected to work across both electrical and mechanical disciplines, although the role is predominantly for electrical infrastructure relating to an Estates Health care environment.

Main duties of the job

Thesuccessful candidate of Estates Officer (electrical bias) will be required towork 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday and work occasional out of hours suchas weekends where appropriate payments would be made. The successful postholder will also be part of an on-call rota based at South Tyneside DistrictHospital, but required to work across all properties maintainedby STSFT.

Anexciting opportunity has arisen for the right candidate to fill the position ofEstates Officer (Operations and Maintenance electrical bias) and join SouthTyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust Estates Department. Responsibleto the Senior Estates Officer the successful post holder will undertake therole and responsibilities of an Electrical Authorised Person LV & HV.

The successful applicant will bequalified to Higher National Certificate (HNC) level in an engineering discipline,preferably electrical and have widespread knowledge of repair, installation andmaintenance of Building Services, electrical plant and equipment in accordancewith good practice guides, relevant statutory legislation, codes of practice,preferably gained in a healthcare environment typically Health TechnicalMemorandums (HTMs).

Afull UK driving licence is required for this post; however reasonableadjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act2010.
