Are you newly qualified, returning to practice or an experienced Occupational Therapist (OT) looking for an opportunity to provide recovery focused OT assessments and interventions to adult service users residing in the East Riding community, then this is the post for you!!

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to join an already established Multi-Disciplinary Team, comprising of nursing, social work, Psychiatry and Psychologist colleagues. The role will involve providing specialist OT consultation, identifying OT referrals, and acting as a Care Coordinator for this service user group, as well as providing some duty officer cover to support service users accessing the team for support and signposting them to other team members and services in order to support them managing their mental health. The candidate will be provided with a robust induction package and training to support them in their role.

The Goole team provide a Monday – Friday service and currently work in blended way, sharing their time in base and remote working, therefore the candidate will have the opportunity to manage their own diary and work flexibly between base and home.

Main duties of the job

The post-holders will be expected to assess and deliver, evidence-based OT interventions, to facilitate wellbeing, and optimise independent functioning in self-care, productivity and leisure activities, from an occupational perspective to identified service users.

Interventions take place in service users home environments and community settings; therefore, the post-holder will need the flexibility of working to meet service user needs.

There is an expectation that the post-holder will carry a case load of care coordinated OT specific patients and will be responsible to ensure their Mental and Physical health needs are addressed.

The post-holder will be expected to carry out tasks related to that of a duty officer to support service users accessing the service to manage their mental health.

The post-holder will be required to provide input into the MDT meetings in order to support the OT viewpoint supporting the service user needs.

There will be an expectation of the post-holder being involved in projects or service developments happening within teams allowing the post-holder to develop their skills within this area.

All Occupational Therapists have access to supervision, CPD networks and can participate in a monthly Band 5 OT Development Group.
