Willaston Surgery is looking to recruit a part time salaried GP to cover maternity leave.

The cover required is from 1st May 2023 and ending on 31st March 2024 for 7 sessions per week onMonday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (but open to negotiation).

The surgery is a small, friendly practice within the pretty village of Willaston, South Wirral with a practice population of 4,300. The successful applicant will join a team of two salaried GPs, a part-time ACP, practice nurses and healthcare assistant, all of whom are supported by our non-clinical team. We work closely with our colleagues within Neston and Willaston Primary Care Network, and have a number of additional staff with ARRS roles within the wider primary care team.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will provide general medical services managing a clinical caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients.

Take part in leading on key disease areas (monitoring trends in the Quality and Outcomes Framework treatment, staff training and prescribing).

In accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will be available to undertake a number of clinical sessions including queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions, actioning test results, medical reports and examinations (e.g. Insurance Companies) on behalf of the Practice.

Provide all GP services required as part of the PMS contract held between Cheshire and Wirral Partnership Trust and the commissioning CCG, including all core services such as Child Health Surveillance.Undertake surgeries in accordance with the access needs of the practice population and the contractual obligation of the practice.
