The new CAMHS Practitioner role is an exciting opportunity to deliver evidence-based early interventions for children and young people, working across both educational and healthcare settings.The role is to be part of the Trailblazer project in Haringey Schools.The post holder will be part of a Mental Health Support Team under supervision / leadership of a Senior CAMHS Practitioner to deliver evidence-based interventions for children and young people with mild to moderate mental health problems within the school setting.The work in each school will be supported by a CAMHS Practitioner who already has an established relationship with the school.The post holder will be able to gain experience and training within the wider CAMHS service, and willbe expected to play an active part in quality improvement and service development projects.

Main duties of the job

Assess and deliver, under supervision, outcome focused, evidence-based interventions (individual and group) to children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties.Working in partnership, support children and young people experiencing mild tomoderate mental health difficulties and their families in the self-management of presenting difficulties.Work in partnership with children, young people and families in the development of plans for the intervention and agreed outcomes.To access and support and advise vulnerable groups of CYP i.e. those who identify as LGBTQ&I and NEET thorough evidence based interventions.To support school staff to manage low level emotional problems.To support parents by promoting mental health awareness.Operate at all times from an inclusive values base, which recognises and respects diversity.Undertakes accurate assessment of risk to self and others.Adhere to the service referral protocols. Under supervision signpost unsuitable referrals to the relevant service as necessary.Through close case management and supervision, escalate cases where the level of need becomes beyond scope,
