Job responsibilities

An opportunity has risen to join our public health team as maternity cover. If you are an Emergency Planning specialist, we would love to hear from you especially if you have experience in health or public health.

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic person to join the Public Health Directorate working across Cambridgeshire County Council and Peterborough City Council. The Covid-19 pandemic has highlighted the importance of this role and emergency preparedness.

This role is 6-12 months maternity cover from the beginning of May 2023.

What will you be doing?

A key part of the role is to provide assurance to the DPH that there is co-ordinated planning across a range of organisations including local government and NHS Trusts for emergencies and incidents which impact on the health of the public; and that health emergency planning and resilience issues identified through the Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Local Resilience Forum and the C&P Local Health Resilience Partnership are being addressed by the relevant organisations. The Senior Public Health Manager EPRR will be the first point of contact within public health for any issues relating to EPRR and will be required to provide high quality tactica; EPRR policy advice.

About you

The successful candidate will have excellent emergency planning skills and will be comfortable working with a wide variety of system stakeholders at a senior level as they will work closely with partners in the Councils, Integrated Care System and wider partners including the police. This will be a hybrid role, with a base at New Shire Hall in Alconbury, involve some working at home and some travel across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough to partnership meetings.
