An opportunity has arisen for a Nursing Associate band 4 position. You will need to have substantial experience of working with individuals who have experienced mental illness/Learning disability & Autism in a residential, community or in-patient care setting.

Turner ward is a 12 bedded low secure forensic Learning Disability and Autism Unit for males, between the ages of 18 and 70. We provide a comprehensive range of services for patients with learning disability and Autism with mental health disorder who are detained under the Mental Health Act. Patients will have an offending history, convicted or pending offence with the courts and be subject to additional restrictions under the Mental Health Act.

You need to have a genuine passion in working with Learning disability & Autism patients and willing to make a difference in their lives. This role is pivotal in supporting the team in delivering care. You will be expected to deliver high standards of care incorporating the recovery approach to cover all aspects of health needs and risks within a safe environment by working closely with the relevant services. Main duties of the job

The service offers Inpatient care for people with Learning disability & Autism/mental health problems, provides assessment and treatment of patient with a range of diagnoses, who require hospital care due to the severity of need. We provide services for Learning disability & Autism patients who cannot be cared for in the community or other settings, due to the intensity and expertise of the care required. Within this setting all aspects of physical health, social care needs, and risks are jointly managed by a multi-disciplinary Learning Disability team, which forms part of a planned and integrated holistic system approach to care.
