You will work as part of a friendly, dynamic and dedicated project team with a strong focus on delivery of high quality, customer focussed service. Following recent investment this role will have a significant part to play in an extensive New Hospitals Programme.

This is a critical senior role working within Digital Services for the Trust but will also work closely with the Strategic Estates team as part of the New Hospitals Programme for DCH concerned with redevelopment of the Trust’s ED and Critical Care facilities. There are also opportunities to be involved in ICS wide activities as senior member of the DCH Digital Services team.

The postholder will be required to manage a dedicated project team to deliver procurement and implementation of a new critical care clinical information system as part of this strategic estates programme.

Support from the wider Digital Service Teams, Clinical leads, procurement and finance specialists will be provided as required particularly with regard to the clinical, commercial and technical aspects of the role.

The postholder will report to the Digital Portfolio Manager but will be accountable to the Critical Care Digital Project Board that will comprise the Clinical, Estates and Digital leads for the project.

Main duties of the job

The focus of this role will be to provide the project management for the procurement and implementation of a new Critical Care Clinical Information System ahead of a major Estates redevelopment for ED and Critical Care at the Trust. This is a complex project that involves working jointly with the Digital Services and with the Strategic Estates team to ensure that the new solution is fully integrated with existing and developing clinical systems and medical devices within the Trust and meets the needs of a new Critical Care unit due to open in the next 2-3 years. There will also be a requirement to ensure continuity of critical care with tertiary centres where patient care spans different organisations.

The postholder will be required to apply effective project management disciplines adopting PRINCE2 project management methodology to deliver projects on time, within budgets and to the defined quality standards required to achieve identified benefits.
