Role accountabilities:
Duties will include amongst other things:
Leading by example to promote continual improvement in SHE performance across the business
Building relationships with clients to identify and realise business opportunities and to ensure that client expectations and Arcadis commercial objectives are met or exceeded
Providing professional leadership in your discipline at a senior management level, establishing and consolidating relationships with clients, taking ownership for aspects of technical capability, supporting the delivery of projects or specialised components of projects
Taking line management responsibility for the development and performance management of team members to support the delivery of Arcadis business
Supporting the recruitment process as required
(If required) leading the delivery of complex projects ensuring client satisfaction, effective project management and good communication and collaboration between Arcadis colleagues
Coaching and mentoring technical professionals to support the development of Arcadis talent pool
Taking a lead role in developing future strategies and the evolution of technical service delivery for your discipline
When appointed in the role of a Project Manager, providing leadership of the commercial aspects of a project or framework (contract, invoicing, debt, client management) and driving project performance service delivery and technical and commercial outcomes.
Shaping teams, leading the acquisition, deployment and management of resources for projects and frameworks to ensure optimal resource allocation.
Identifying any pockets of low performance, managing this through instigating transformation plans.
Through an effective review process, overseeing the delivery of projects to time, meeting both quality and budgetary targets, whilst striving to exceed client expectations
Performing independent technical and performance reviews for complex and/or major projects/frameworks
Providing input into specific technical aspects of individual bids to support the production of high quality winning pursuits
Encouraging innovative and entrepreneurial thinking amongst team members
Keeping up to date with developments in the industry sector and with technical and legislative developments and seeking opportunities to develop a strong professional profile at a National level (e.g. conference presentations, publications and participation in technical committees)
Taking an active participation in the professional development of reports and colleagues
Working with GEC champions to maximise GEC led input on projects/frameworks
Ensuring we make H&S a priority within the team
Championing Diversity and Inclusion within the team
Qualifications & Experience:
Have a BSc/BEng or MSc/MEng or equivalent in a relevant discipline
Achieved Chartered or Incorporated Engineer professional status, or equivalent
Previous relevant experience including demonstrable technical/design leadership within a Consultancy or Contractor context
Demonstrable experience of delivering complex multi-discipinary projects
Demonstrable experience of leading continuous improvement in Safe by Design
A sound knowledge of legislation, hazards and safe systems of work
Strong stakeholder management skills
Ability to think strategically
Have strong existing relationships throughout the industry and with peers, establishing networks accordingly.
