**This position is open to staff working at the Trust in the ‘ECT Family’ this includes current East Cheshire NHS Trust employees, bank staff, ISS staff and volunteers at the Trust.**

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, proactive individual for a full time Band 6 Physiotherapy post. The post holder will be based on the Orthopaedic Wards and will work as part of the multi-disciplinary team. The work will be a mixture of trauma and elective caseloads. You will be expected to have completed a wide variety of junior rotations, one of which must be T&O. Senior rotations within T&O would be an advantage. Excellent communication skills will be required and it will be essential for the post holder to work autonomously within trust policies and to work well within a team. There will be a requirement to participate in a weekend rota.

Main duties of the job

As a clinical specialist provide a high standard comprehensive physiotherapy assessment, treatment and education service to trauma and orthopaedic inpatients in the pre-operative, post-operative and clinic phases and any Orthopaedic outlying patients, including Paediatrics within MDGH by working as an autonomous clinician, using accurate analytical skills and clinical reasoning to interpret assessment findings, making diagnoses where appropriate, identifying patient problems, setting goals, and providing an appropriate treatment plan and progression.

Upon completion and maintenance of on call competencies, to work unsupervised in an on-call and out of hour’s emergency service.

Be responsible for the co-ordination and management of the Orthopaedic Physiotherapy Weekend Service, identifying and addressing any training needs required working flexibly in its delivery.

In conjunction with the Clinical Specialist OT for orthopaedics manage the delivery of the therapy component of the orthopaedic elective pre and post-operative clinics.
