The post holder will provide high quality care and work towards developing and working within a cohesive multidisciplinary team. The expectations within this job description will be met through, hands on clinical practice, education and training, and research. The post holder will be caring and compassionate with patients, relatives and staff, and will actively listen, understand and respond to the patients’ needs and improve and innovate for patient safety. You will provide highly skilled assistance in all and act as a professional member of the team. The initial objectives of the post will be reviewed with the post holder on an annual basis.
Main duties of the job
We are seeking a motivated surgical band 5 Registered Nurses with sound knowledge and evidenced based practice to join the Surgical Ambulatory Care Unit at St Helier Hospital.
SACU is a busy but friendly assessment unit for adult urology and general surgical patients who present via GP referrals, transfers from the Emergency Department, clinic referrals as well as a nurse led dressing clinic for complex surgical wounds.
The unit is open 8am-8pm seven days a week consisting of 8 bed spaces/chairs together with clinical treatment areas. The surgical team comprises of Registered Nurses, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, surgical clinicians and Health Care Assistants.
The successful candidate would be expected to liaise closely with all surgical teams within SACU and the clinical site team, to ensure a smooth pathway through the hospital.
Shifts include Long days, Bank holidays and weekends.
