Job summary

Reporting to the Deputy Chief People Officer, the Equality & Diversity Manager will be an important addition to the workforce team and a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to really make a difference in an Organisation that truly values its staff. You will support the development, production and delivery of professional advice, guidance and documentation that actively supports the Trust in the delivery of the National and Local Equality, Diversity & Human Rights Agenda and ensure the Trust meets its statutory compliance requirements in both service delivery and employment.

Supporting the implementation of the national Equality and Delivery System, to aid the trust to meet and exceed legal and best practice obligations under the E & D Agenda ensuring that this integrates with the overarching Performance Management Framework of the Trust.

Providing solution focused and accessible professional advice and guidance to managers, staff, and key stakeholders, identifying and actioning priority employment and service developments to ensure equitable delivery of employment practices and care.

Taking responsibility for facilitating networks, forums and other channels of communication with internal and external stakeholders ensuring that the Trust is accessible and inclusive.

Supporting the development, consultation and implementation of effective, pro-active, and accessible Strategies, Policies and Frameworks that meet and exceed legal and best practice obligations under the E & D Agenda.

To ensure that the Trust makes progress againstthe National and Local E & D and NHS Agenda with a focus on statutorycompliance requirements (ensuring that national indicators are met inaccordance with timeframes, compliance standards and relevant targets e.g. EDS2,WRES, WDES) production and analysis of annual equality monitoring reports, advisingon the completion of EIAs, analysis of survey results from an equalityperspective.

Develop and deliver relevant documentationand actions in response to the findings of the above indicators and on-goingequality monitoring activity

Prepare and deliver relevant reports,documentation and briefing papers to a variety of key internal and externalgroups ensuring effective communication and implementation of subsequentactions

Support the ongoing evaluation and continualimprovement of E & D development programmes and resources and initiativesaimed at building awareness, developing knowledge and embedding E & Dprinciples consistently across the organisation

Delivery of specialist training, briefingsand awareness activities across area of expertise to appropriate forums

To contribute to the development of specificpolicies in employment and service delivery ensuring that legal and contractualobligations are achieved

Support the Trust with the comprehensiveimplementation and embedding of national equality and diversity initiatives

Ensure that specific service and policysolutions, systems and procedures are fair and fully embrace Equality andDiversity

Engage with Managers and Staff to support thedevelopment of a performance based culture which mainstreams and embedsEquality and Diversity as a key part of corporate effectiveness and servicedelivery

Actively support the Trust to improve serviceand employment performance and practice in Equality and Diversity through thedevelopment of positive action initiatives and participation in local events

Review performance against employment targetsand workforce data sets instigating relevant actions to ensure compliance andrepresentation
