Job responsibilities
Tosupport the implementation of the national Equality and Delivery System, to aidthe trust to meet and exceed legal and best practice obligations under the E& D Agenda ensuring that this integrates with the overarching PerformanceManagement Framework of the Trust
To provide solution focused and accessibleprofessional advice and guidance to managers, staff and key stakeholders. Towork with colleagues and key stakeholders in identifying and actioning priorityemployment and service developments to ensure equitable delivery of employmentpractices and care.
To take responsibility for facilitating networks,forums and other channels of communication with internal and externalstakeholders ensuring that the Trust is accessible and inclusive.
To support the development, consultation andimplementation of effective, pro-active and accessible Strategies, Policies andFrameworks that meet and exceed legal and best practice obligations under the E& D Agenda:
To ensure that the Trust makes progress againstthe National and Local E & D and NHS Agenda with a focus on statutorycompliance requirements (ensuring that national indicators are met inaccordance with timeframes, compliance standards and relevant targets e.g. EDS2,WRES, WDES) production and analysis of annual equality monitoring reports, advisingon the completion of EIAs, analysis of survey results from an equalityperspective.
Develop and deliver relevant documentationand actions in response to the findings of the above indicators and on-goingequality monitoring activity
Prepare and deliver relevant reports,documentation and briefing papers to a variety of key internal and externalgroups ensuring effective communication and implementation of subsequentactions
Support the ongoing evaluation and continualimprovement of E & D development programmes and resources and initiativesaimed at building awareness, developing knowledge and embedding E & Dprinciples consistently across the organisation
Delivery of specialist training, briefingsand awareness activities across area of expertise to appropriate forums
To contribute to the development of specificpolicies in employment and service delivery ensuring that legal and contractualobligations are achieved
Support the Trust with the comprehensiveimplementation and embedding of national equality and diversity initiatives
Ensure that specific service and policysolutions, systems and procedures are fair and fully embrace Equality andDiversity
Engage with Managers and Staff to support thedevelopment of a performance based culture which mainstreams and embedsEquality and Diversity as a key part of corporate effectiveness and servicedelivery
Actively support the Trust to improve serviceand employment performance and practice in Equality and Diversity through thedevelopment of positive action initiatives and participation in local events
Review performance against employment targetsand workforce data sets instigating relevant actions to ensure compliance andrepresentation
Prepare and review evidence requirements forassessments, audit and performance management activity generated by internalAudit Activity, Statutory Organisations and NHS Agencies and support thedevolvement of assessments down to service level
Maintenance and renewal of employmentaccreditations and equality service contracts
Co-ordinating participation in benchmarking exercisesand developing associated action plans
Providing administrative support to theequality and diversity sub-committee

Provide specialist advice and guidance acrossall areas of diversity regarding current and future Equality Legislation,Guidance and thinking, Compliance requirements and Best Practice in Employmentand Service Delivery
Support and advise Trust Management Forums,Health Professionals and staff to ensure the mainstreaming and effectivedelivery of the Equality and Diversity Agenda. Actively supporting managers inthe development and effective delivery of equitable employment practices andservices to meet the needs of diverse groups
Working with HR colleagues ensure that the E& D Training Strategy, framework and suite of resources that buildsawareness, develops skills and supports effective and consistent implementationagainst the national training standards and compliance requirements is fit forpurpose through continual evaluation and updating
Support patient experience with ensuringequitable delivery of care to patient groups and key stakeholders
Working in partnership with key stakeholdersto ensure ownership of service and policy developments
To undertake a regular review of trainingrequirements for E&D across the Trust, including the planning andevaluation of training and training materials
To takeresponsibility for facilitating networks, forums and other channels ofcommunication with internal and external stakeholders ensuring that the Trustis accessible and inclusive:
Support the co-ordination and delivery of activities and actions of theTrusts E & D Sub Committee and other relevant Trust networks at a corporateand divisional level
To undertake presentations relating to theE&D agenda to multidisciplinary groups both within and external to theorganisation.
Developing and embedding effectivecommunication channels and partnerships internally and externally acrossrelevant networks, agencies and community groups
Supporting patient experience withfacilitating the effective sharing of best practice through evidence gathering,updates and engagement activities with key stakeholders
Establishing effective communication channelswith key stakeholders to facilitate information sharing and provide an open andinclusive culture
Maintaining a process of communication whichmainstreams the need to communicate in many languages and formats to provide afully accessible communication strategy
Continually review the demand for thedevelopment of staff networks.
