Job responsibilities

We cover the geographical area of Oxford and North East Oxfordshire (Kidlington and Bicester).

The teams primary base is at The Warneford Hospital, Oxford with additional offices at The Julier Centre, Bicester. Core working hours are Monday-Friday 09:00-17:00. Out-of-hours support services are managed via a team rota. Staff will be expected to work on this rota which includes occasional weekend 09:00-17:00 shifts and evening shifts in the week between 17:00-20:00.

Please note:

  • New starters have a 6 month probationary period. This, together with the induction process aims to create a positive supportive working environment allowing new employees to learn key elements of their role over a reasonable timescale.
  • Candidates not currently employed by the Trust who attend an interview for non-qualified Band 1-5 posts are required to undertake numeracy and literacy assessments.
  • Appointment to this post is subject to the trust receiving satisfactory references covering 3 years of employment or study. Please ask your referees to respond promptly to reference requests.
  • Employees are expected to undertake mandatory and statutory training related to their role.

    Essential

  • Registered Professional Qualification (Mental Health Nurse , Occupational Therapy or Social Work)
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) portfolio
  • Desirable

  • Post graduate education specifically relating to client group (Post basic qualification in community care/ research awareness/ management)
  • Approved Mental Health Professional
  • Occupational Experience

    Essential

  • To have experience of working within a multidisciplinary team
  • To have relevant experience in community care and have specific clinical expertise in mental health
  • Desirable

  • Experience of supervising and managing staff
  • Experience of providing leadership
  • Skills required – IT / Admin

    Essential

  • To be IT literate
  • To have excellent English verbal and written communication skills
  • To have the means of accessing all areas of the geographical patch in person
