Experience in mental health hospital pharmacy
Self motivated, confident and ability to prioritise
Have a flexible approach to work in order to meet the developing needs of the pharmacy service

Education/Qualifications/Training
Essential
Masters in pharmacy or equivalent from a British School of pharmacy or recognised equivalent
Statutory registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
Clinical or psychiatric postgraduate certificate
Clinical or psychiatric postgraduate diploma
Desirable
Membership with RPS
Membership of the CMHP
Independent prescriber

Previous Experience
Essential
Suitable length of post registration experience as a practicing pharmacist
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in mental health hospital pharmacy
Good working knowledge of clinical governance and medicines management issues
Good working knowledge of mental health therapeutics and prescribing issues in mental health
Good working knowledge of mental health services and collaborative working in multidisciplinary teams
Experience in project facilitation
Experience of MDT mental health team working
Experience of service development
Experience of budget management
Experience of racial awareness training
Experience of providing information to mental health patients
Experience in supervising staff
Experience in training of other staff
Able to identify own development/training needs
Experience in carrying out medicines information queries, providing both verbal and written specialist advice
Experience of managing unpredictable work patterns and to effectively manage situations where concentration may be frequently interrupted, for advice
