Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a People Operations Lead who will have overall responsibility for overseeing and providing a People Operations service which supports the delivery of the People Strategy and the Trust’s overall strategic priorities.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for the people operations service and will work in collaboration with managers, key stakeholders and the people operations team to provide innovative and proactive advice to support business decisions whilst also ensuring compliance with ACAS best practices, employment legislation and the Trust’s values.
The post holder will represent the Trust at system and ICS meetings in relation to the people practices and will be required to lead implementing system work at the Trust.

They will lead a team in providing expert advice in relation to people practices and will take responsibility providing assurance to the People Directorate, Executive Team and Board of Directors regarding people practices cases, highlighting any risks and managing legal cases on behalf of the Trust.
The post holder will be responsible for the ongoing development and implementation of a Just, Restorative and Learning Culture at the Trust promoting openness. This will include a programme of leading and implementing on-going training for staff and managers and engagement across the Trust and development and implementation of policies and procedures. The post holder will also lead the Trust’s job evaluation process.

Essential
- Excellent knowledge of current people processes and practises
- Current and forthcoming employment law relevant to the role
- Substantial people advisory experience in relation to complex people practices including disciplinary, grievances and dismissals
- Excellent knowledge and ability of interpreting AFC and Medical and Dental terms and conditions of employment
- An understanding of the NHS agenda and demonstrable ability to apply these in practice
Desirable
- Working knowledge of Maintain High Professional Standards (MHPS)
- Knowledge of HR Business Intelligence systems (particularly ESR)
Qualifications

- Graduate Member of the CIPD or nearing completion of membership assessment
- Degree level education or equivalent experience
- Postgraduate qualification in HR or equivalent experience
