Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated specialty doctor with a strong interest and experience in education to lead on primary care liaison and training for our Sexual Health and HIV services at Barts Health NHS Trust. Our sexual health services have an annual attendance of around 100,000 patients and are Level 3 services for both GU medicine and SRH.

This is a replacement post which is available to start as soon as possible and is mainly based at The Royal London Hospital with occasional potential cross cover and Saturday work in Stratford.

Clinical responsibilities include x2 integrated Sexual Health clinics per week including one evening. There is no on-call responsibility, but there is Saturday clinical work (10 Saturdays per year – 5 in Stratford and 5 in Whitechapel).

Main duties of the job

The Primary Care Liaison Lead will perform a key role in providing liaison and training for non-specialist providers of sexual and reproductive healthcare across the Barts Health footprint of Newham, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest. The post holder will work collaboratively across these boroughs overseeing the delivery of training, education, operational support and governance in order to meet key performance indicators as specified in the North East London Integrated Sexual Health, System Leadership contract (Work Package 2). The department is part of the North East London Clinical Services Network thus providing excellent opportunities to engage in clinical leadership, teaching and research.
