Pastoral Support Manager – Watford, Hertfordshire

Mainstream Secondary Academy working with students aged 11-18

Supporting students with their educational journey working towards behavioural and academic issues

Long-term role with a permanent option – Immediate or half-term start

Located in the thriving city of Watford, this exceptional secondary academy has been providing quality education for the local community for the past 10 years. Due to an immediate resignation, they are seeking to expand their Pastoral team and currently have a vacancy for a Pastoral Lead / Pastoral teacher to join the academy in this vital and varied role!

As Pastoral Support Manager, the successful candidate will work with various students on a one-to-one basis, identifying and addressing the underlying reasons for their struggles in their school setting, with the ultimate goal of ensuring a smooth transition back into the school routine. Based in school you will responsible for supporting pupil behaviour, leading inclusion lessons, speaking with parents and external agencies.

Key attributes required for the Pastoral Support Manager role:

Passion for education and supporting young people through difficult life events. A strong experience working with behavioural and academic issues and a calm and understanding persona are essential. We are looking for an individual who can quickly build trusting relationships and has the ability to work in partnership with a range of staff, parents and outside support agencies alike. You will need to have a keen eye for detail and be able to report, investigate, develop, and encourage students daily as part of their day to day lives at school.
