We are lookingto appoint experienced and highly motivated Occupational Therapists to join ourdynamic and friendly Orthopaedic Inpatient Therapy team.
The OrthopaedicInpatient Therapy team provides care across several clinical areas includingthe Orthopaedic Trauma Ward (Fitzwilliam) and Elective Orthopaedic ward(Rockingham), Paediatric ward, Day surgery and Fracture clinic. There will besome work within the community setting as part of these roles. The team coversa 7-day service with weekday late nights to support the Orthopaedic EnhancedRecovery Programme and the facilitation of our day case pathway.
Due to the nature of the role it isessential that applicants are able to travel independently across the countyand have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes. If necessary,adjustments can be considered in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.
Theability to work flexibly over 7 days is essential.

Main duties of the job
Theteam are supportive and proactive in our day case pathway and enhanced recoveryprogramme therefore there will be opportunity to be involved within servicedevelopment due to the recent success with our day case arthroplasty work. Weare currently ranked one of the highest achieving hospitals for our day caseuni-compartmental knee replacements which therapy support and with advances inday surgery we will continue to be involved with pathway developments.
Thisrole requires assessment, treatment and management of a varied caseload of bothtrauma and elective patients in a very busy Orthopaedic unit. This can includepre-operative assessment through to rehabilitation and discharge planning.
Successfulapplicants will have gained a broad range of postgraduate experience includingwork within the Orthopaedic speciality and will join a dedicated team ofPhysiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Therapy Support Workers, alongwith a supportive wider Multidisciplinary team.
Youwill have the opportunity to provide clinical supervisionto other team members including junior Occupational Therapists, Therapy SupportWorkers and students. They will also have access to regular support from asenior level, supervision and specialised orthopaedic teaching within the teamand wider MDT including Orthopaedic Consultants.
