Are you an experienced design manager or project manager who has worked on projects from start to finish? Are you someone who enjoys processes and getting involved in earlier stages of a project? Would you like to be part of a large main contractor?

I have an opportunity for a Pre Construction Manager (Design) to be part of a growing team with a large main contractor. The role will be based in North Hertfordshire. This opportunity is open to those from a design or production background who would like to get involved on the tender/ earlier stages of a project.

  • Responsibilities:

  • Your expertise will be required on project in terms of decision making and tendering
  • Responsible to create and manage pre-construction and construction phases for the Contracts and Projects Managers who are permanently on-site
  • Procurement of all information for the construction works during the Pre Construction phase (or PCSA programme) that may include diversion, disconnection, survey works, remediation of the site or demolition of the building on site
  • Value engineering
  • Review drawings and evaluate risks on the projects
  • Liaising and managing clients and consultants
  • Coordinate designs in line with the programme and cost
  • Requirements:

  • Must have UK based construction experience – ideally working for a main contractor
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of how a project comes together from start to completion
  • Knowledge and understanding of other interfaces such as MEP, Structural and Facade
  • Can work under pressure and on fast paced projects
  • Experience managing client relationships and consultants
  • Good team player with strong communication and management skills
  • Must be able to work from the office (full time) in Hertfordshire
