The Role

Southern Counties Veterinary Specialists are looking to recruit a Senior registered veterinary nurse with experience providing specialist medical nursing care. The successful candidate will need to be organised with excellent communication and leadership skills, as well as an interest in deputising to the Head Medicine Nurse in their absence.

You will be involved in the daily case management, including assisting with anaesthesia, diagnostic and medical procedures (inclusive of endoscopy). You will also be responsible for the provision of nursing care to hospitalised medical patients, along with one-to-one ICU care, chemotherapeutic treatments and blood transfusion medicine.

You will work 40 hours on average a week, with 1 weekend per 5 weeks.

Southern Counties Veterinary Specialists is a multidisciplinary referral centre, currently undergoing extensive expansion and improvement of its facilities.

The practice is located in the South of England, close to the New Forest National Park and South Coast, offering easy access to a multitude of outdoor activities. Bournemouth beach has just been voted number one beach in the UK by Tripadvisor and is a 20-minute drive from the practice. The area also offers good access to regional and international airports and has excellent road and rail links to London.
