We have a temporary new role in Ashford for a Barista with 2Gether Support Solutions within the East Kent Hospital Trust. Looking for a new role with a company that offers long-term roles in retail, coffee shops and restaurant settings? This could be the perfect opportunity!!

  • Position: Catering Assistant -Barista
  • Location: WHH – Ashford
  • Hourly rate: £10.46+ Holiday pay (rate enhancements available for weekends & bank holidays)
  • Duration: 6 months+
  • Hours: 5 out of 7 including weekends. Varying shifts from 0630 – 2200
  • Contract type: Temporary with weekly pay via Randstad

  • Catering Assistant’s duties include:

  • Provide a courteous and efficient catering service to patients, staff and visitors, optimising the productivity of the retail outlets.Prepare and/or serve food to customers in a professional and courteous manner. Optimising retail sales and demonstrating high levels of customer service.Cleaning of catering and service equipment including floors, work surfaces, and related equipment manually and by use of machine to hygiene standards.Assist in the delivery of the function and vending service within time constraints and meeting stated requirements.Operate a cash register and handle cash in a safe and efficient manner.To maintain food safety and hygiene standards in your work area and apply the food safety procedures applicable in work area.Ensure that all work is carried out in line with Health and Safety, Quality and 2gether Support Solutions policies and procedures and all documentation and work records are completed accurately.To correctly use and take care of all equipment and materials associated with tasks and immediately report any faults to a supervisor.Store goods correctly and use stock on a rotational basis to optimise sales and minimise food wastage.Participate as a full member of the team, e.g. supporting and training other staff, participating in team meetings, working flexibly as required to cover other members of the team.About you:
  • You will have some previous experience in retail, the hospitality industry or be keen to work in the sector.
  • Ability to communicate with customers, visitors, colleagues and management effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and methodically whilst providing an excellent customer experience.
  • Awareness of Health and safety standards and related food hygiene certificates would be an advantage but essential as training will be provided by Randstad (food hygiene certificate) and on the job training.
  • Requirements:

  • Relevant experience in the same or a relevant role is an advantage but not essential.
  • Eligible to work in the United Kingdom
  • 2 current proofs of address.
  • Happy to undergo relevant training including clinical and and non-clinical along with food hygiene
  • Access to transport will be an advantage when applying for this role due to the location of the hospital.
  • No DBS is required for this role.
