They currently have exciting opportunities for BREEAM assessors of various levels to join their UK Sustainability team, delivering an existing, well-established workload of projects across all sectors.

Your new role

Key responsibilities:

  • Full technical responsibility and operational accountability for building physics output on projects across various sectors
  • Contribute to the development of in-house digital design tools
  • Energy modelling and building geometry simulation
  • Undertake building performance analysis including Part L compliance, overheating assessment (CIBSE TM59), BRUKL report, EPC, TM54, HVAC system modelling etc.
  • Stay abreast of changes in legislation, regulations, guidance, and modelling software advances
  • Holds (or meet the criteria to hold) security clearance to MOD SC level

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Well-rounded understanding of the principles of building physics, from concept design input, options comparisons and thermal modelling
  • In-depth understanding of thermal analysis, including peak plant sizing, annual energy analysis, lighting control, daylighting, natural ventilation
  • Accreditation as Low Carbon Consultant (design and DSM) and Energy Assessor (level 5) would be favourable
  • Working knowledge and understanding of BREEAM requirements
  • An interest in developing design tools to enable more efficient and accurate production of project deliverables
  • To take charge of project deliverables, make decisions on developing the discipline design elements, act on own initiative and operate in a pro-active way
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, particularly the ability to influence and negotiate both internally and externally with an open and inclusive style
  • Liaising closely with other professionals, including structural engineers, architects, surveyors, and contractors of in-house and external project teams
  • Strong report writing skills
