Accept referrals via agreed protocols within theservice.

Assess and support people with a common mentalhealth problem in the self-management of their recovery.

Undertake patient-centred interviews whichidentifies areas where the person wishes to see change and or recovery andmakes an accurate assessment of risk to self and others. Make decisions onsuitability of new referrals, adhering to the departments referral protocols,refer unsuitable clients on to the relevant service or back to the referral agentas necessary or steps up the persons treatment to high intensity psychologicaltherapy.

Provide a range of information and support forevidence based high-volume low-intensity psychological treatments. This mayinclude guided self-help computerised CBT and information about pharmacologicaltreatments. This work may be face to face, telephone or via other media.

Educate and involve family members and others intreatment as necessary.

Adhere to an agreed activity contract relatingto the overall number of client contacts offered, and clinical sessions carriedout per week in order to minimise waiting times and ensure treatment deliveryremains accessible and convenient.

Attend multi-disciplinary meetings relating toreferrals or clients in treatment, where appropriate.

Complete all requirements relating to datacollection within the service.

Keep coherent records of all clinical activityin line with service protocols and use these records and clinical outcome datain clinical decision making.

Work closely with other members of the team,ensuring appropriate step-up and step-down arrangements are in place tomaintain a stepped care approach.

Assess and integrate issues surrounding work andemployment into the overall therapy process

Operate at all times from an inclusive valuesbase which promotes recovery and recognises and respects diversity

Qualifications

Essential

  • Holds a PG or UG certificate in Low Intensity Interventions from a recognised BPS accredited PWP training provider
  • Or MSci Applied Psychology integrated with PWP qualification with dual BPS accreditation as PWP training
  • Or PWP Apprenticeship training qualification from a BPS accredited PWP training programme
