An exciting opportunity has arisen for a SafeguardingAdults Advisor at Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

The safeguarding adults advisor brings an excitingopportunity for professionals to help acute care teams embed the principles ofthe making safeguarding personal agenda and the roll out of changes broughtabout by the Care Act.

In collaboration with the rest of the dynamic safeguardingteam you will be responsible for giving support, advice and education toclinical staff across Barnsley Hospital NHS Trust.

Main duties of the job

BHNFT has an all age Safeguarding Teamthat performs corporate functions to ensure that BHNFT meets it statutory andcontractual obligations in terms of safeguarding. This work includes:

Ensure that allstaff have the required knowledge, skills and competence to support them inidentifying and responding to any safeguarding concerns ensuring action hasbeen taken to keep people safe.

Ensure that staff haveaccess to advice, support and supervision appropriate to their need and role.

The post holder will advise BHNFT staffon their statutory and legislative duties for all aspects of safeguardingadults at risk as stipulated in primary legislation, government strategy,national, regional and local guidance. Offering highly specialist advice,support and mentorship to service leads on prevention, concerns and section 42(Care Act) enquiries, promoting a positive quality culture in which continuousimprovement in clinical care is sought and achieved.

The post holder will support operationalteams in redesign of care plans for adults at the centre of a safeguardingconcern: In this instance they are actively involved in devising the newpackage and making recommendations which may require having contact with thepatient in this instance.

To work inpartnership across Barnsley and surrounding areas to promote safeguardingagendas and partnership working.
