Ward 14 is a 12 bedded ward that cares for children and young people 12 – 18 years of age.

Ward 15 Infants – A 16 bedded unit covering a wide range experience caring for 0-2 years.

Ward 16 – 24 bed ward, caring for children aged 2-12 and specialising in Paediatric Oncology for children of all ages.

PHDU is a 6 – 8 bedded Level I-II Paediatric Critical Care Unit caring for infants, children and young people aged 0-16/17 years of age from Coventry and Warwickshire.

On a daily basis we work with the Paediatric team, the acute medical teams, acute surgery, the orthopaedic team and other specialities. We also work closely with dieticians, specialist nurses, physiotherapists and play specialists to enable us to offer holistic care. The Unit also has well established links with KIDS (Kids Intensive Care & Decision Support) based at Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

Nursing staff deliver CPAP and nasal High Flow Therapy and short-term ventilation. We are constantly developing the Unit with a Trainee Advanced Nurse Practitioner for PHDU, and developing our practices at all times.PHDU has bespoke nurse development and training plans with the support of a Paediatric Practice Educator.

We take great pride in developing our Paediatric Nursing skills and this is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate.
