About the Trust Rated Good (Outstanding for Caring) in their most recent CQC report, South Tyneside & Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust provides acute hospital and community-based healthcare services to people in South Tyneside and Sunderland. The Trust also provides a wide range of specialist services, with particular expertise in ophthalmology with a Cataract Treatment Centre, Glaucoma Unit and a Macular Unit. What youll be responsible for

• Co-ordinating with the Paediatric Lead
• Working with patients’ families and carers, to discuss the care and condition of the paediatric patient

Displaying excellent analytical ability and sound decision making in changing clinical situations

Checking and using specialised equipment such as monitors and ventilators

The role will involve, but not be limited to you performing the above.

Youll have the following qualification/experience:

A minimum of 6 months paid experience in Paediatrics within the last 2 years

Comply with NMC Professional Registration and keep up to date with current nursing practices

Ensure accurate records are kept in accordance with CHS policy and NMC guidelines

Undertake regular mandatory training*

*Depending on the Trust, you may require variable additional certification and skills.

Essential

• NMC Registration
• Have a minimum of 6 months paid experience at Band 5 level in a Paediatric hospital environment within the last 2 years
