Job summary

This post attracts a ‘Golden Hello’ payment of £2,750 (payable in 3 instalments over 2 years) to new starters with the Trust in this role.

To lead the Healthy Families Team in the delivery of the 0-19 Healthy Child Programme and Public Health Nursing Programme children in line with local and national public health priorities.

Main duties of the job

BassetlawHealthy Families Team, provide a quality service to the local population, we are an integrated service, working in partnership with local Children’s Centres, working with children and young people aged 0 – 19 and their families .

The team is a skill mixed team, taking leadership from Specialist Public Health Practitioners, providing a high standard of care, our staff receive a good training and induction package and a friendly supportive working environment.

The role includes services to antenatal women, completion of the Healthy Child Programme for under 5s, enhanced programmes of care within school and community settings for the 5 -19 age group, breast feeding support and a strong element of leadership to the skill mix 0-19 cluster team

A full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use is required for this post; however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.

  • 1 st level Registration with current NMC registration
  • Registered Specialist Practitioner (Health Visitor / School Nurse)
  • Non-medical prescribing V100 (Health Visitor)

Desirable

  • Recognised teaching qualification (ENB 998/730/ FLIPS or equivalent)
  • Evidence of further professional development
  • Independent nurse prescribing EN MP (School Nurse) V150

Experience

Essential

  • Demonstrate Health Visiting / School Nursing practice
  • Experience of working in multi-disciplinary team
  • Experience of supervising junior staff.

Desirable

  • Experience of managing a team
