PK Education are currently working with special schools across the Leeds area who are looking for experienced SEN learning support assistants for temporary sickness cover. This will enable you to experience working in different special schools gaining invaluable knowledge and experience to develop your career. Many of the special schools have a wide range of special educational needs that include: Autistic Spectrum disorder from mild to severe high needs, Moderate learning difficulties, attention deficit hyperactive disorder, complex needs and profound and multiple learning difficulties. It may be that you have had experience working in the community supporting young individuals with special educational needs. If this is you, then you will have transferrable skills that we will consider. Most importantly your passion should be making a difference in children s lives and wanting to support learners in their educational development.

Job Description & job Spec:

  • Level two Teaching assistant or above, GNVQ level 2 health & Social care or above or SEND Diploma.
  • Must have experience with individuals with special educational needs.
  • Passionate about supporting learners developing their educational attainment.
  • Be flexible and adaptable for any situation you may encounter.
  • Team Teach trained is an advantage, however must be willing to undertake the CPD two day training.
  • Observing a learners trigger points to ensure any situation is de-escalated efficiently and professionally.
  • Willing to travel around the Leeds area.
  • Must have a DBS on the subscription service or willing to apply for one.
