Support the administration service by providing a comprehensive, efficient and confidential

A administration support for the specialities in General & Specialist Surgery

The post holder will be a first point of contact for the Directorate and responsible for the meeting and greeting of patients and their relatives who attend clinic.

The post holder will be required to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with a good eye for detail to ensure accuracy when inputting data onto the Patient Administration System.

Main duties of the job

To work as part of a clinical administration team to support a defined team of clinicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals.

Provide an efficient general administration day-to-day support to the department. Duties will include providing a front of house reception service, collection and delivery of notes, filing, faxing and other general administrative duties.

The post holder will be required to work as part of the administration team and provide cross cover during periods of staff absence within their existing team and other teams within the Directorate as and when required.

This support should be provided during the hours of 7.30am and 6pm flexibility of the hours are essential and should be aligned to the Direct Clinical Care time of the Consultants for whom they support.
