Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Deputy Nursery Manager in a Lively Liverpool Setting.

The main purpose of this role includes:
– To take a leading role in the development and management of the nursery, providing for the operation of the Early Years Foundation Stage, creating and maintaining a high qualityenvironment for the children, families and staff and excellence in the standards of childcare.

The main responsibilities include:

1. To contribute to the overall development of the Nursery.

2. To deputise for the Nursery Manager when required.

3. To help sustain the registration of the Nursery and aim for the highest rating in the Ofsted Inspection frameworks.

4. To help manage and maximise occupancy.

5. To undertake a Key Person role with a group of Children.

6. Within a culture of continuous improvement, to ensure services are of the highest standards in accordance with EYFS, childcare legislation, good childcare practice, Ofsted Standards.

7. To work alongside the Nursery Manager to develop and continuously review all policies, procedures and recording systems.

8. To support SEND provision promoting multi-agency working including working with Speech and Language, Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists.

9. To help manage the nursery resources to meet the service requirements.

10. To contribute to a dynamic, active, play and learning environment which promotes anti-discriminatory and anti-oppressive practice and in which each individual child is supported to develop to his or her potential.

11. To ensure that the welfare and safety of children using the nursery is promoted and safeguarded and to take action, according to the procedures, where there are child protection concerns.

12. To help ensure the service is available to all users in line with Equality and Diversity policy.

13. To support staff in developing their skills and to make a contribution to the Nursery’s training programme.

14. To help parents to use the service by encouraging awareness of subsidies which may be available to them and by signposting them to those agencies dealing with income maximisation.
