An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Fundraising Grants, Trusts and Legacies Officer to join our friendly fundraising team and Halton Haven Hospice.

The post-holder will be dedicated to increasing our income from grantmaking bodies, including trusts and foundations along with encouraging legaciesand donors.

A confident communicator, who brings demonstrable experience of the grant-makingprocess, monitoring and developing strategy, researching and recommendingprojects. The ideal candidate will haveexcellent organizational skills, attention to detail and a methodical approachto work. They will be experienced in using databases and in managing financial information. A flexible approach to working is required.

Assessingapplications for funding on their feasibility, likely impact and ability todeliver outcomes linked to the departments business plan and fundraisingstrategy

Develop andsubmit applications to a range of charitable trusts and other grant makers

Reviewingand developing guidance and application process

Developresources to support applicants/grant makers to deliver our shared objectives, includingguidance documents and best practice

Producereports and thank you letters to trusts and grant makers in a timely manne

Manage theadministration linked to grants, trusts and legacies, ensuring information isentered and updated accurately onto the database system

Support thedepartment by making presentations at networking events, representing andpromoting Halton Haven Hospice, and attend cheque presentation

Maintain anddevelop relationships with trusts and grant makers across Halton by givingrequired support and encouragement with effective and regular communication

Liaise withFundraising Finance Office to ensure that all budget information is accurate

Researchsuitable funding opportunities and grant maker criteria

To manage legacies bequeathed to the Halton Haven Hospice

To Identify all reasonable opportunities to maximise the valuesof the Halton Haven Hospices bequests

To ensure that the tax concessions available to charities havebeen correctly received, including ensuring that our inheritance tax exemptionis correctly applied, that our capital gains tax exemption is utilised whereviable to do so, and obtaining tax deduction certificates in respect of incometax paid during the administration

Maintain anorganized filing system, administrative processes and produce timely reports.

Maintain athorough understanding of the departments business plan and fundraisingstrategy
