We are looking to recruit a Geriatrician withvarying interests and skills to enhance and develop our current serviceprovision. The Department currently provides specialist services for falls,iOPAL, acute frailty, community services (Locality Hubs), dementia, Parkinsonsdisease & Orthogeriatrics. The trust is keen to develop an outstandinggeriatric service and is looking for a highly motivated and innovativephysician to supplement the present team.

Main duties of the job

Work with existing consultants and the multi-disciplinaryteam to provide a high-quality, well-led service for patients of Ashford &St Peters, including the diagnosis, investigations, treatment and managementof patients, in accordance with Trust policies and practices.

Deliver Direct Clinical Care to patients,through all parts of the Department assisting clinical decision-making andsharing equally in the workload.

To have continuing responsibility for the care of patients intheir charge and to undertake the administrative duties associated with theircare across 7 days.

To be part of the GIM On call rota during their rotation inAshford St Peters Trust

Engage with medical, nursing, management andall relevant co-workers in the delivery of department objectives: to provideclinical leadership, improve the patient experience; ensure the highest qualityclinical care.

Actively participate in and support otherstaff with education, research, audit and clinical governance activitiesinvolving a multi-disciplinary workforce across the department

Participatein the professional training of the staff in the department, both medical andnon-medical, and contribute as required to teaching sessions for other hospitalstaff as well as undergraduate and postgraduate staff, including supervision ofjunior medical staff. Teaching andtraining will require verification of teaching certification
